A strategic approach to the practical exam At Topclass Nederland we understand that a driving exam is an exciting affair for many students. Through years of experience and a solid knowledge of the CBR exam locations in the Netherlands, Topclass Nederland has developed a unique method.

We offer our students the opportunity to take their exams at different locations, even outside their own region. This not only increases flexibility, but also ensures that students are better prepared and more confident when taking their exams.

Benefits of alternating exam locations

The choice of multiple exam locations offers several advantages for both regular students and students with concentration problems:

  1. More chance of a faster exam date

Since waiting times can vary per CBR location, students can get their turn faster by being flexible in their exam environment. This means shorter waiting times and an earlier chance to get their driver's license.

  2. Less performance pressure on familiar routes

Some students experience additional stress when they are too aware of the routes they have previously driven in their driving school car. By offering them the opportunity to take the test in a less familiar area, they can focus more on their driving skills than on fixed expectations of the test route.

  3. Better preparation for unfamiliar traffic situations

In real traffic, drivers rarely drive exclusively in their own hometown. By preparing students for different driving environments – such as city traffic, highways and country roads – Topclass Nederland helps them develop widely applicable driving skills.

  4. Advantage for students with concentration problems

Students who have trouble focusing for long periods of time or who are easily distracted by familiar surroundings may benefit from an exam location that requires them to stay more focused. A new environment can help them drive more alertly and concentrate better on the task.

Disadvantages and points of attention

While there are many benefits to making the exam location more flexible, there are also some considerations to keep in mind:

  1. Less familiarity with the environment

Some students feel more comfortable if they are familiar with the roads and situations around their exam location. This can be a disadvantage when choosing a less familiar location. In this case, a familiar location will be chosen.

  2. Different traffic density per location

Exam centers in large cities such as Amsterdam or Rotterdam can be more challenging due to heavy traffic and complex traffic situations. For some students this can be an additional stress factor. Choosing a quieter time of the exam can be a stress reducing factor here.

  3. Additional travel time to the exam location

Taking the exam in a different region sometimes means that students have to travel further. This can present logistical challenges, although the advantage of faster availability often compensates for this. The majority of the distance to be covered is used for more intensive motorway training, where lateral movements such as overtaking, merging and exiting can be amply reinforced.

  4. Conclusion: flexibility leads to better opportunities

The Topclass Nederland method offers a great deal of flexibility and adaptability for students. By offering multiple exam locations and carefully analyzing routes, students are given a fair chance to successfully complete their driving test, without unnecessary stress and long waiting times.

  5. Solid strategic analysis of the examination area

Before the exam takes place, the environment is extensively scanned for exam-sensitive situations. We can determine what the exam route could be and with that the

student becomes more involved in the environment and feels more at ease.
